RIDGE EXPANSION / RIDGE SPLIT PROCEDURES FOR IMPLANTS

In severe cases, the bone ridge has been resorbed and a bone graft is placed to increase bone ridge height and/or width. Ridge  Expansion is a technique used to restore the lost bone dimension when the jaw ridge gets too thin to place conventional implants. In this procedure, the bony ridge of the jaw is expanded by mechanical means. Bone graft material can be placed and  matured for a few months before placing the implant.

NERVE REPOSTIONING FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS

Nerve-Repositioning or "Nerve Lateralization" is reserved for  the rarest of cases, but is extremly useful in the right situation. It is only done to replace the lower back teeth with very unique situation. You may need this procedure if the bone is not "tall" enough to have an implant. There also needs to be a lack of  space from in-between you top and botton teeth

BLOCK GRAFTS FOR IMPLANTS

Before dental implant surgery, bone grafting is sometimes necessary to supplement the bone mass of patient's jaw so the implants can be anchored firmly. Dr Antonious is committed to doing everything necessary to ensure the success of every dental implant procedure. That means bone grafting will be performed, if required, to ensure that your dental implants provide you a lifetime of beautiful smiles.

  3. Dental Implant placement usually takes two surgical appointments:

    - During the first surgical appointment the implant site is prepared to receive the implant following strict aseptic procedures. The selected size of the implant is placed in the prepared site. The gum tissue is sutured over the implant. The implant takes 4- 6 months to fuse with the bone.

    - During the second surgical appointment the implant is uncovered and the appropriate post is attached to which the replacement tooth is anchored. An impression of the post is taken and sent to the lab for the fabrication of the implant crown. During this time a temporary crown is placed. Once the final crown is back it is cemented with permanent cement.
